Giovanni VOLPATO (Bassano 1733 - Rome 1803) "South elevation of the Villa Albani Palace" Original etching with burin touches signed in the plate on the bottom right "Giovanni Volpato inci.", From a subject by Francesco Panini (Rome 1745 - 1812) for a series of views of Rome and contours engraved for the chalcography of the chamber together with Barbazza and Cappellan between 1773 and 1780 as in the case of this subject published precisely in 1780 as shown by the wording in the lower center. Beautiful copy printed on laid paper bearing the "Easter lamb in a circle" filigree typical of Italian paper production of the 18th century, complete with the imprint of the plate and with margins, with a series of spots on the right side of the lower edge that also affect the part of the legend, as well as other minimal defects at the edges but overall in a good state of conservation. Rara. Bibliography: Bryan's Dictionary of Painters and Engravers London 1904 vol.IV pag. 49. Marini "Giovanni Volpato 1735-1803" Bassano 1988 No. 204. Measurements in mm: 475 x 672
